Mindfulness Workshops

The development of the workshop began, of all places, in a low security prison setting, teaching clients to accept the  reality of incarceration and take charge of their lives. The workshop developed numerous mindfulness classes and mindfulness techniques.


As the success grew, the workshop continued in medium, high, and super-max  facilities within four different states. Workshops expanded to staff  and departments working in high stress environments such as law  enforcement and hospitals.


Workshops are offered for small and large groups at a flat rate by group size and  option selected. Workshops can be provided by major topics areas and  include:


  • Introduction to Mindfulness (4 hours)     
    • Introduction
    • Understanding Autopilot
    • Mindful Eating Exercise
    • Understanding Driven-Doing and Being Modes
    • Defining Mindfulness and Short Stories
    • Skill – Body Scan
    • Skill – Mindful Breathing
    • Skill – Everyday Mindfulness


  • Beginning Mindfulness (8 hours)     
    • Includes all activities in 4-hour workshop, plus:
    • Understanding the Mindfulness Boat (theory overview)
    • Understanding ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy) within Mindfulness
    • Discussions – Worry, Thoughts, Distractions, Avoidance
    • Understanding the Mind
    • Skill – Advanced Mindful Breathing
    • Skill – 3 Minute Meditation
    • Skill – Everyday Mindfulness


  • Full Mindfulness Workshop (2 days)     
    • Includes all activities in the 4- and 8-hour workshop, plus:
    • Understanding the Four Attitudes of Mindfulness
    • The Self-Esteem Chess Match and Emotions
    • Understanding Expansion Steps
    • Understanding Values and Obstacles of Change
    • Forgiveness
    • Skill – Defusion
    • Skill – Naming the Mind’s Stories
    • Skill – Thanking the Mind
    • Skill – Not Taking a Thought Seriously
    • Skill – Expansion Self-Talk
    • Skill – Urge Surfing
    • Skill – Setting Values
    • Skill – Reflection
